California businesses scored a win in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals’ Feb. 15 decision which allows them to once again require workers to sign mandatory arbitration agreements to resolve work-related disputes. Senior Employment Counsel Corinne Spencer spoke with Orange County Register, San Gabriel Valley Tribune and Whittier Daily News to discuss the broad implications for businesses looking to avoid costly payouts for employment claims.
“This [decision] eliminates some of the threat of runaway verdicts,” commented Spencer. “It can also destroy the threat of class action lawsuits.”
