As reported by San Fernando Valley Business Journal, Law360 and Daily Journal, Pearlman Brown & Wax has promoted David Downing and Corinne Spencer to non-equity partners in the firm’s Los Angeles office, effective April 2023.

“As managing partner, I could not be happier that we have invited two of our best to join the partnership of our firm,” said Barry Pearlman. “I am so excited to call them both my partners.”

Downing specializes in the defense of complex workers’ compensation matters, having litigated cases from file inception through trial and appeal, focusing on quick and cost-efficient resolution.

“When I came to Pearlman, Brown & Wax, I came specifically because of the partnership that was and still is in place here,” Downing told San Fernando Valley Business Journal. “The equity partners are each, in their own ways, titans in the field, and I’ve been able to learn from them by working with them. They made me into the litigator I am today.”

Spencer serves as Chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group and spearheads the Environmental Law practice. She represents and counsels clients in employment-related matters, including litigation, risk assessment, policy preparation, personnel decisions and training.

Since coming aboard as Chair of the Group, Spencer has added several associates and looks to continue bolstering the practice. “Pearlman, Brown & Wax is definitely a place where people are prioritized and there’s room for growth, and I’m excited by that,” she said.
