In recent years, California employers of all sizes have faced increased risk as targets of Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) lawsuits. However, Governor Newsom signed two bills, AB 2288 and SB 92, into law on July 1, 2024, effectively reforming PAGA. While the new laws do not entirely eliminate the risk of PAGA lawsuits for California businesses, they are a welcomed new chapter in PAGA jurisprudence.
