With more than 30 years of experience in the employment and labor industry, Cameron provides advice and counsel and defends employers throughout California.  Cameron offers high-quality legal representation in a simple and straightforward manner.  She has more than a decade of experience advocating on behalf of physicians, health care professionals, restaurants, retail establishments, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and agribusinesses. As a labor and employment  attorney, Cameron has assisted employers in all facets of labor and employment disputes including advice and counsel on various federal and state labor and employment laws, draft various legal documents, employee manuals and contracts, investigation of harassment claims, class action defense, employment discrimination, civil rights, sexual harassment claims, disability, pregnancy, race and gender discrimination claims.

Before joining Pearlman Brown and Wax LLP, Cameron began her legal career as a fierce litigator at the Law Offices of Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. During her twenty years working alongside Mr. Cochran, she developed the firm’s first employment and labor group representing both employees and employers.

Cameron served as the first female managing partner of the Los Angeles office – Cochran, Givens, Smith, Cherry and Stewart.  Her background includes working on both sides of the aisle as a plaintiff and defense lawyer, which gives her a unique advantage when strategizing and anticipating her opponent’s next move.

Cameron currently serves as Senior Counsel in the Employment and Labor Group.  Her diverse practice includes the representation of insurance carriers, healthcare companies and providers, restaurants, and other large corporations whose operations could expose them to significant liability.  She has extensive experience in defending clients in challenging disputes that are filed on the basis of negligence, disability and pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour violations, and wrongful termination.

Client engagement is central to successful defense litigation and Cameron is committed to maintaining a high level of communications.  She takes the time to truly involve the client and incorporate their goals, concerns, values and feedback.  Cameron manages the relationship transparently so that her clients can see how their interests are being served every stage of the litigation process.  She collaborates with clients so they can provide valuable input.

Cameron is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriters Society (PLUS), the Black Women Lawyer’s Association, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.  As an experienced trial attorney, Cameron prides herself on getting good results for her clients.
