Raymond Correio

Raymond Correio is a senior associate with Pearlman, Brown & Wax, LLP and works out of our Encino office. He specializes in all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation from case inception to trial and appeal.

Before joining the firm Ray was a Workers’ Compensation Judge assigned to both the Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey District Offices for approximately twelve years. He retired from the bench in 2009. Prior to taking the bench he was with his own firm. He graduated from Chapman College with honors. He is a graduate of the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with a Juris Doctorate.

He is the author of widely used Sports Law and Apportionment Case Law Summaries. He has authored numerous articles published by LexisNexis and other legal publications. He is a sought after speaker on a variety of topics related to workers compensation. As an industry acknowledged expert on the law of Apportionment has he is a perpetual presenter at the annual statewide DWC Educational Conference, has participated in doctor training at the CSIM’s (California Society of Industrial Medicine) annual conferences, is a frequent speaker at the California Lawyers Association, the California Applicant Attorney’s Association and regularly teaches the law of apportionment as part of the statewide WCAB judges training.

In 2013 he was named defense attorney of the year by the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar.

He is a member of the California Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney’s Association and a member of the Retired California Worker’s Compensation Judge’s Association.
