Saerim Luciano is a senior associate at Pearlman, Brown & Wax, specializing in civil litigation areas of insurance subrogation and employment litigation defense. Saerim also has experience handling workers’ compensation defense matters at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board for case-in-chief files, in addition to defending employers on 132(a) claims and Serious and Willful Claims.
Saerim handles all lines of subrogation including automobile, property, and workers’ compensation subrogation, from case inception through trial. Saerim fondly recalls her first bench trial as lead counsel after a whopping 3 months as a newly minted attorney. She has obtained successful results and verdicts for her clients at countless mediations and trial.
Saerim also handles employment defense litigation and has focused primarily on single party cases. She has experience in conducting internal investigations, taking and defending depositions, law and motion work, drafting employee handbooks, providing counseling to clients, in addition to defending employers in arbitration. Additionally, Saerim is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts, Central and Eastern Districts.
Saerim received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles prior to obtaining her Juris Doctorate at Southwestern University. While enrolled in Southwestern’s 2-year SCALE program, she received many awards for receiving top grades, in addition to being a Dean Scholar and a Dean Fellow. Saerim graduated at the top 20% of her class.
In her leisure time, Saerim is an avid traveler and loves to be outdoors whether it be canyoneering, backpacking, or snowboarding.
