January 12, 2022
On January 11, 2022 the Division of Workers’ Compensation advised the more than 9,000 external users of the system that they are returning to REMOTE trials and expedited hearings for all district offices effective 01/12/22 until further notice.
All division of Workers’ Compensation district offices are open, with the following exception:
- The Oakland district office is closed on Tuesday, January 11. If you have a hearing set at the office, please call the assigned judge’s conference line.
As of Wednesday, January 12, all hearings will be heard virtually. Until further notice, DWC will telephonically hear all trials, lien trials, expedited hearings, and special adjudication unit (SAU) trials. In addition, mandatory settlement conferences, priority conferences, status conferences, SAU conferences, and lien conferences will continue to be held on the individually assigned judges’ conference line.
Walk-throughs will continue in the life-size walkthrough courtrooms until further notice.
Until today’s update from the DWC, PB&W was appearing for our clients’ in-person at trial, expedited hearings, lien trials and SAU trials.
