Legal Updates for California Employers

Law Settled on “Take-Home” COVID-19

In a win for California employers following Kuciemba v. Victory Woodworks, Inc., the law on take-home COVID has been settled. Employees who contract the virus may file a workers’ compensation claim, but they and their family members are barred from pursuing a civil claim. Partner and Senior Employment Counsel Corinne Spencer and Senior Associates Jonathan Brown and Antwoin Wall examined the Court’s ruling in a recent Daily Journaarticle.

Corinne Spencer on California Employment Law Updates

As a guest on the Good Morning, HR podcast, Partner Corinne Spencer discusses California employment law updates, exploring their complexities, upcoming cannabis use protections, evolving COVID regulations, rising wage and hour litigation, and the Private Attorneys General Act’s impact on labor law prosecutions. Listen to the episode here.
